The City of Cleveland Division of Water operates 45 wastewater pump stations. These pump stations provide clean water to over 1.5 million people in 70 communities. The Fairmount Pump Station was selected for one of the many capital improvement contracts to update the facility.

VIP was selected by the general contractor to provide construction work from all three divisions of our company. Our work scope included: lintel replacement, new windows and entrances, interior and exterior cleaning, openings and infills, rebuilding of facade on the west elevation after demolition, and removal/resetting of granite at the entrance stairway.

The glass and glazing division performed extraordinarily on this project. The main entrance archway was custom fabricated with the arches welded and assembled on site. This archway is the buildings entry focal point and was designed to display this building’s historical presence while welcoming visitors.

Part of our 42,000 square foot facility is dedicated to the fabrication shop for the glazing division. Our full time fabricator can take the raw aluminum and glass and make custom windows, doors, and curtainwall systems. This gives VIP the advantage and control over project scheduling to assist in the coordination of the project.
