Chartered in 1882, the Cleveland Institute of Art is a professional school of art and design. Located in Cleveland, Ohio the school is undergoing a campus modernization including a renovation of the Joseph McCullough Center for the Arts.
Since the building is on the National Register of Historic Places in Ohio, extra care was needed in the selection of materials. Historic replica replacement windows with a custom color were ordered and installed.
VIP also performed the demolition on existing windows and our fabrication shop custom made the curtainwall. Interior storefront and glass entrances were also installed providing the facade with the balance of a modern look to a classic structure.
The Restoration division performed column repairs and poured In place concrete repairs before coating of the columns for a uniform finish. The brick and terra cotta facades were cleaned and some sections were entirely rebuilt, while the school remained open during construction.
VIP utilized our mast climber system allowing VIP the most control over the schedule. VIP has a substantial fleet of equipment. Owning our own equipment gives VIP more flexibility and can accommodate owners and general contractors in the coordination of multiple trades.
